We  have launched a brand new career advice section the Vicinity Jobs Network, which replaces our old job search tips section. Links to the new career advice section and to selected articles are on all of the high-traffic pages of each Vicinity Jobs website.

The direct link to the new career advice section is:

The new career advice section features hundreds of professionally written articles contributed by our community partners. The advices that they provide are very valuable to people who are looking for a job or are planning a career move – not least because, unlike many other websites, we have a strict policy to not publish articles that advertise a paid service.

All articles are organized into categories that our visitors can browse through, and we have added search capabilities. Separate sections are dedicated to groups with unique needs, such as new immigrants, student and recent grads, and mature job seekers. A large number of articles are also available for working people who are looking for advice on progressing at work, avoiding stress, and achieving a balance between their work and private lives. We plan to add new articles at least monthly.

The new Career Advice section is the result of a productive partnership between the Vicinity Jobs Network and our well known and respected partners in the community – including the Newmarket Employment Resource Centre, the YorkYouth program of the York Region District School Board, and Mark Swartz – a well known career coach and author of the book “Get Wired, You’re Hired” (among others). Without their help, it would not have been possible.
